Abstract
In Education in general and especially in education of medicine it is relevant to be aware that there are a lot of different approaches, some older then thousands of years. There is a variety of different scientific paradigms. It is crucial to be tolerant and open for different views and methods. In most cases, integration, cooperation, realizing harmony between different approaches proves to be best and most successful. Western oriented Medicine in combination with “TOAM: Traditional Or Alternative Medicine” knowhow and training or vice versa is the real challenge. Moreover one must be aware that there is a large variety of scientific paradigms. They are characterised by following criteria: (A) Some empiric observation component (more or less abstract); (B) Some theoretical components (some specific terminology: symbols which can be strongly metaphorical); (C) Some operations (including deductive, inductive or other derivations); (D) Some links between A and B or vice versa based on the operators C.
