However, we know much more about the Neanderthals. They were driven out of their environment by humans when humans invaded Europe about 40,000 years ago. They had lived for 200,000 years successfully in their environment. They were good hunters. They had sophisticated stone tools. (Melissa Hogenboom, 2015).
