1 The "Hominins", including Homo Naledi, are an extinct group from the same genus as humans. Chimpanzees and other apes are biologically farther from Homo sapiens than the Hominins. Dating both the soil around the fossils and some teeth, it was shown that the Naledi roamed the African plains some 236,000 to 335,000 years ago, during the same period as our early ancestors. |
