Nemesis
Nemesis (Greek: Νέμεσις, literally: 'awarding/distributing the deserved punishment'). It belongs to Greek mythology. She is the goddess of righteous revenge, but also of equality. Nemesis is the daughter of Nyx ('night') and she obeys Zeus, although she is older than him. Hybris (Ὑβρις, 'hubris') is punished by her. Nemesis was also adopted by the Romans and kept its Greek name. In images, Nemesis (like Justitia) carries a sword and a scale. |
