Using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) To Detect the Diabetes Yousef Abuzir, Mohammad Abuzir, Ahmad Abuzir Abstract Diabetes is a growing public health concern worldwide. It has the highest number of chronic disease patients and is one of the major health challenges all over the world. Prevention and prediction of diabetes are increasingly gaining interest in healthcare communities. This study use standalone data mining technique Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) to classify patients with diabetes using a data set of patient records. This classification is done across different female patients with at least 21 years old. The experimental result proves that, the proposed model has attained an average accuracy of 92.99 % for classification of the diabetes dataset. It also shows that, a better overall performance of Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) method. |
Turing’s Legacy and the Conversion of Wilfried Allaerts Abstract In this paper, the main focus is on a central episode in the work of Alan M. Turing and a crucial episode in the history of the twentieth century, with a profound and worldwide impact on postwar development. The Turing papers on ordinal logics and type theory are considered outstanding achievements in the field of Mathematical logic. Their implications however reach much further, including divergent fields like mechanical or artificial intelligence, neurolinguistics, cybernetics and epidemiology. In this paper particular attention is paid to the notion of conversion of genuine mathematical ideas in Turing’s apprehension of type theory, starting from his work on ordinal logics, and also on their possible application into biological matters. The notion of enumerability seems to form a core issue in these matters, or, in Turing’s words, constitute ‘an incompatibility between completeness and invariance’. Although the postwar developments, especially in the biological sciences, have defined a completely new stage for scientific discovery, it is concluded that the present new world crisis, evoked by an unexpected pandemic, may constitute an enticing opportunity to look back at this inspiring episode in the work of the much hailed A.M. Turing. |
The law as a means to order, peace and prosperity, or the law as a cover for cruelty and destruction by dyssocials or both? Fernand Vandamme Abstract Cognitive and communicative processes are investigated which are used by actors, including dyssocials to generate and direct legislation in view of use and abuse of this legislation and administering this justice in view of realizing individual and social targets. |
